Overview
EKSC LTD is the UK-registered parent legal entity for a portfolio of European retail brands. Where the group's central checkout infrastructure is used, EKSC LTD acts as the legal and payment-processing entity for the transaction, while the relevant brand, order details, pricing, currency, support path and applicable policies are shown clearly to the customer before payment is completed.
Central checkout disclosure: Where the group's central checkout infrastructure is used, EKSC LTD is the contracting and payment-processing entity for the transaction. The relevant brand, product or service description, total price, currency, support path and applicable policies are always shown clearly to the customer before any payment is taken.
This arrangement allows the group to maintain consistent payment processing standards, documented fraud-screening controls and responsive customer support across all active brands. The customer always knows which brand they are purchasing from, what they are paying and what their rights and support routes are before any payment is confirmed.
Contracting Entity
Where EKSC LTD central checkout infrastructure processes a transaction, EKSC LTD is the contracting and payment-processing entity for that transaction. EKSC LTD issues the charge, processes the payment and is responsible for the fulfilment, refund and customer support obligations associated with that transaction.
The brand shown at checkout identifies the product range and trading identity the customer is purchasing from. The legal entity processing the payment and fulfilling the associated obligations is EKSC LTD.
This structure is transparent: the customer sees the brand they are purchasing from, the total amount payable in the applicable currency, and the EKSC LTD payment and support infrastructure that processes and supports the transaction.
Transaction Flow
The following sequence describes how a transaction works where EKSC LTD central checkout infrastructure is used:
Customer browses the brand website
The customer visits the relevant brand's website (e.g. islalondon.co.uk, emabratislava.sk, ateljesvetlosti.rs) and selects products.
Checkout via group infrastructure where applicable
The customer proceeds to checkout. Where EKSC LTD central checkout infrastructure is used, the checkout page is operated by EKSC LTD. The brand name, product description, total price, currency, delivery estimate, applicable policies and support contact are all displayed clearly before any payment is submitted.
Payment processed by EKSC LTD
The customer submits payment. The payment is processed by EKSC LTD through a regulated, PCI DSS-compliant payment service provider. Raw card data is handled exclusively by the payment provider via tokenisation. EKSC LTD does not store raw card data.
Order confirmed, fulfilment begins
The customer receives an order confirmation showing the brand, order details, amount charged and expected dispatch timeline. Fulfilment is conducted in accordance with the brand's applicable policies.
Support path preserved throughout
Customer support is available before, during and after the transaction through the EKSC group support infrastructure. Transaction records, fulfilment evidence and communication logs are retained throughout.
What the Customer Sees Before Payment
Before any payment is taken through EKSC LTD checkout infrastructure, the following information is always shown clearly to the customer:
- Brand name — the brand the customer is purchasing from
- Product or service description — what is being purchased
- Total price — the full amount payable, with no hidden charges
- Currency — the applicable currency for the relevant market
- Delivery estimate — the expected dispatch and delivery timeframe
- Applicable policies — refund, return and shipping terms, accessible before payment
- Support path — how to contact support before and after purchase
No payment is taken until the customer has reviewed all relevant information and explicitly confirmed their order.
What EKSC LTD Does Not Do
For transparency, the following are clearly stated:
- EKSC LTD does not store raw card data on its own systems at any point
- EKSC LTD does not obscure the brand identity from the customer at checkout
- EKSC LTD does not charge amounts different from those shown at checkout without explicit customer authorisation
- EKSC LTD does not remove or restrict the customer's access to support, refund or complaint routes
- EKSC LTD does not process payments for brands or transactions that have not been explicitly set up within the group infrastructure
Payment Processing Standards
All payments within the EKSC group are processed through regulated, PCI DSS-compliant payment service providers. Processing standards include:
- PCI DSS-compliant processing through regulated payment service providers
- Card data tokenisation — raw card numbers handled and stored only by the payment provider
- 3D Secure authentication where supported by the customer's issuing bank
- Fraud-screening measures applied at transaction level through payment provider tools
- Transaction monitoring and review procedures across all active brands
- TLS encryption for all data transmissions
Billing Descriptor
The descriptor that appears on a customer's card statement may show:
- The brand name (e.g. Isla London, Ema Bratislava, Atelje Svetlosti)
- EKSC LTD, where the group checkout infrastructure is the processing entity
- A shortened form of either, depending on issuing bank display rules
Billing descriptor notice: Depending on the payment route used, a customer's card statement may show EKSC LTD or an applicable payment descriptor linked to the group checkout infrastructure. Customers who do not recognise a charge should contact payments@eksc.co.uk before opening a dispute. We provide full transaction details promptly.
See the Billing Descriptor FAQ for more detail.

Before You Open a Dispute
Important: Customers are encouraged to contact payments@eksc.co.uk before initiating a payment dispute. EKSC LTD maintains transaction records, fulfilment evidence and communication logs for all transactions and can resolve most payment questions quickly without a formal dispute process.
Contacting us first is typically faster and less inconvenient than a formal chargeback. We can confirm order details, provide tracking evidence, issue refunds where applicable, and clarify any unrecognised charge promptly.
